Rupert House is a happy and high-achieving independent Pre-Prep and Prep School for boys and girls aged 3-11 years. We stand proudly at the heart of the beautiful riverside town of Henley-on-Thames. From the moment that children enter our care they are encouraged to adopt a Growth Mindset learning the values of creativity, respect, courage and resilience that will enable them to stand tall in the world.

At Rupert House we are fortunate to be surrounded by a wealth of fantastic facilities with which we have built strong ties and collaborations. From the Rowing Club to the Rugby club, the local churches to the Kenton Theatre, the sports centre to the Cricket Club, our provision extends way beyond our school buildings and grounds.

Admissions
Applying to Rupert House is very straightforward. The first step is to call our Registrar, Arlette Halfhead on 01491574263 or email her at admissions@ruperthouse.co.uk to arrange a convenient date to visit, to check availability of places, or to discuss any aspect of the admissions process.
Wraparound Care
Rupert House offers comprehensive wraparound care to support busy families and provide children with a happy, structured start and finish to their school day. Breakfast Club opens every weekday from 7.25am, giving children the opportunity to enjoy a cheerful breakfast with friends before spending time chatting, playing, or drawing under supervision until lessons begin at 8.25am. After-school care can be booked each term or half-term, with Pre-Prep pupils staying until 6pm to enjoy a snack and relax with friends, while Prep School pupils can attend Homework Club, with collection at 5pm.
A wide range of clubs and activities also take place during lunch breaks, before, and after school, encouraging pupils to explore new interests, develop skills, and build confidence. Offerings range from sports such as running and hockey to creative and academic pursuits like Create and Make, Think Tank, vocal club, and animation. Some clubs are run by school staff, while others are delivered by external specialists. In addition, Rupert House hosts holiday clubs during school breaks, providing further opportunities for enrichment and care throughout the year.

Today we say goodbye to Michelle, who has been an integral part of our catering team for an incredible 27 years! During her time at Rupert House, she will have helped prepare and serve around 4,600 delicious school lunches As a special farewell surprise, our Head Pupils turned the tables and served her lunch for a change. Welcome back everyone and a special warm welcome to our new starters in Nursery, Year 2, Year 3 and Year 5! It was wonderful to see so many happy, smiling faces return to school to begin a new year and a new term. Our morning was filled with hugs, laughter, and exciting stories from Christmas holiday adventures In assembly, Mr Armitage reminded us of our school values and the importance of kindness. He shared a beautiful extract from Always Remember by Charlie Mackesy: "I worry that I'm not very good at anything," said the boy. "You are kind," said the mole, "which is everything." A little look back to last week's magical carol concert at St Mary's Church, Henley. The children read and sang beautifully, joined by a wonderful community choir and orchestra made up of parents, staff and alumni, filling the church with the joyful sounds of Christmas.
