Year 5 get back to nature with a trip to Bushcraft

Last week, Year 5 set off into the wilderness to spend 3 days at Bushcraft, camping in Blenheim Woods.

The children were split into two tribes, ‘the Mud Warriors’ and ‘the Wild Wolves’.  The children had a wonderful few days building upon their team building skills and getting back to nature.  They worked together to build shelters, set humane traps for animals and light campfires.

Our guides Josh, Belle and Lou also taught the children lots of other skills including first aid, carving tent pegs, bracelet weaving and how to prepare a salmon. Two brave volunteers even ate the eyeballs!

Everyone had a brilliant time sleeping in tents, playing games in the woods and cooking food over the campfire.
