Year 4 Discover Viking England

An important element for Vikings was the ability to fight, so this is where Year 4 commenced. Warriors and shield maidens were trained up and a battle with axes, swords and shields ensued! Fortunately, Rupert House are a strong and worthy crew, and all survived to climb aboard the longship. Here they learned how far and wide the Vikings explored; trading, settling, as well as jumping off-board to raid and pillage!

The afternoon was a calmer affair involving wattling, milking, lighting fires and spindle whorl spinning. An action-packed day full of excitement and history, we left with newly learned skills and lots of fascinating information about the Viking era.
