Bradfield Science Challenge

Well done to our small team of Year 5 scientists who attended the Bradfield Prep Schools Science Challenge this week.

Throughout the afternoon, the children tackled a range of exciting practical challenges in physics, chemistry and biology.

They built working speakers using electricity, magnets and paper, investigated endothermic reactions, explored whether maggots prefer light or dark environments, and used microscopes to study leaves in detail.

The afternoon finished with a spectacular chemistry demonstration featuring colour-changing liquids, dramatic explosions and liquid nitrogen, which was used to freeze a banana solid enough to hammer in a nail!

Our team showed excellent teamwork, curiosity and scientific thinking throughout, and represented the school brilliantly.
