We're looking for new house names

We’re looking for four new house names - and we’d love your ideas

As Rupert House School begins an exciting new chapter following our merger with St Mary’s Prep, we feel that now is the right time to refresh our four house names too.

We want the new names to be more closely connected to Rupert House, our local area and/or the community we are part of - names that have meaning, spark curiosity and give our pupils something to be proud of.

So we’re opening the conversation to our whole community: pupils, parents, grandparents, former pupils, staff and friends of the school.

Assistant Head (Head of Co-Curricular & Prep Boys) and Year 5 Teacher

I have always believed that some of the most important parts of school life happen beyond the pages of an exercise book, whether on the sports field, at a swimming gala, exploring the world outside or simply through a conversation when a child needs a little extra support. My teaching career has taken me from Surrey to Beijing and back again, before I joined Rupert House in 2022. As a class teacher and Head of Prep Boys I particularly enjoy getting to know the children as individuals and supporting them both academically and pastorally as they make their way through the school. For me, the great joy of teaching is seeing children discover what they are capable of and develop the confidence, independence and resilience that will stay with them long after they leave the classroom.
