This Week in the Prep Happy Hub

In the Prep Happy Hub, a small group of Year 3 children came together to reflect on their transition from Year 2 to Year 3.
The children shared some of the challenges they faced, such as not always knowing which classroom to go to, forgetting their pencil cases, and finding homework a bit tricky at times.
Madame Sheriff reassured them that it's completely normal to find change difficult, and encouraged them to talk about healthy coping strategies. These included asking a teacher for help, checking their timetable, practising maths at home, and reading regularly to become stronger readers.
Together, the children created a “rucksack” filled with the people and tools that help them feel more settled in Year 3 - things like supportive teachers, parents, practising at home, using their diary, and not being afraid to ask for help.
It was lovely to see how well the children are adjusting to their new year and taking ownership of their transition with positivity and resilience.
