17th October 2025
The children seemed to have a wonderful time exploring our 'Round the World' theme and we were delighted to welcome 25 families to our Open Morning yesterday. It was a pleasure to show them around the school, they were very complimentary about the children and we are thrilled that several have already signed up to join us in September.
Henley Living Advent Calendar – Save the Date
We are very excited that Rupert House children in Years 3 to 6 have been invited to take part in the Henley Living Advent Calendar on Saturday 6th December. They will be singing carols alongside local singer Daisy at Trinity Church from approximately 5–7pm. It would be wonderful to have a large group of children, so please do save the date if at all possible and parents and siblings are warmly invited to join in too. Please keep it under wraps as the location of each performance is revealed only the day before!
Hairdryer Needed!
The Art Department is on the lookout for a spare hairdryer to assist with pottery and painting projects. If you have an old one at home that you no longer use, we would be very grateful for your donation after half term.
Halloween
As Halloween approaches, we have been given some tips on keeping children safe while they enjoy the celebrations:
- Ensure costumes fit properly and are visible in the dark
- Use face paint instead of masks for better visibility
- Children should stay with an adult while trick-or-treating

Children in Need Day - Friday 14th November
Following on from last year's 24 hours Sportathon, there has been much excitement around the school about what we might be planning to do this year. The theme is '25' and we are keen that as a school community (which includes parents and other family members!) we involve as many people as is possible to take on a challenge to raise collectively as much as we can for Children in Need and the wonderful charities they support. We will be encouraging the children to come in that day in silly sports kit. The day will start with Running Club, where we will be encouraging lots of children to join us in a run around the Marlow pitches before a group of staff and parents take on the challenge of running 25km, while others may like to join a 25km walk at some point during the day or indeed to work as a team and undertake the challenge in the form of a relay. In addition to various planned events during lessons, we have asked the children to think of their own challenge to undertake around the theme of '25' (or multiples of) which they will need to practise or train for and we will give out sponsorship forms after half term for them to seek to raise as much as is possible. We hope you will be keen to step out of your comfort zone in some way as well and that over Half Term you might help your child decide what their own challenge will be!

Harvest Donations – Thank You!
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated to our Harvest collection. The Year 6 children delivered over 60 bags and boxes of goods to the Henley Foodbank this morning. The team there was incredibly grateful, and your generosity will make a real difference to local families this winter.
Wishing You a Wonderful Half Term
We hope you enjoyed the Harvest church service this afternoon. Best of luck to all those taking part in the Sacred Heart cross country and Henley Half Marathon on Sunday – and we wish all families a safe, restful and enjoyable half term break!
Best wishes,
Nick Armitage
