19th September 2025

I write the BBD this week looking out over Brighton beach in glorious sunshine, at the end of a fascinating IAPS Heads' Conference and just before I jump back in the car to get back to school.

As well as hearing from inspirational speakers on themes such as AI, the changing schools market, how to develop future-ready children, encouraging entrepreneurship, we heard from the founder of LadBible about his ADHD journey and from Shaheen Myers about the critical importance of building connectivity (amongst each other, rather than just with technology, you will be pleased to hear!). There is so much to bring back to Rupert House and to share with the staff, yourselves and your children, and I look forward to doing so.

Thank you to everyone who came along to the Future Schools Fair on Tuesday. Over 20 schools joined us in the hall and music studio, offering everyone who attended the chance to explore the fantastic variety of senior school options we have nearby for local families. I do hope you found it useful, wherever you are in your thoughts about senior schools. Whilst Mrs Fletcher and I formally speak with parents when their children are in the Summer Term of Year 4 and then have subsequent 1:1 meetings, we are happy to meet with you at any point to discuss this important next step. The next Future School Fair will be in September 2027.

Individual and Sibling photographs

A reminder that school photographs are being taken by Gillman & Soame on Monday next week. Please remember that children should wear blazers into school and have long hair neatly tied back.

Flu vaccinations

These are taking place in school on Wednesday. Please make sure you have given your consent using the letter below if you would like your child to be vaccinated.

New Sports Tops

The new sports tops for Prep children will be arriving next week. Please name them before bringing them in to school. If you did not manage to order one before the order cut-off date, we will have placed an order on your behalf and will issue your child with their shirt in school and the cost of this will be added to your school bill.

Well done to all those who took part in the Grey's Court Cross-Country races last weekend and best of luck to the Rupert House Riding Team, who are competing in an NSEA competition on Saturday.
