Year 6 explore healthy choices in PSHEE

Year 6 pupils have been busy learning about the importance of making positive choices to support their health and wellbeing in their recent PSHEE lessons.

During the sessions, children were encouraged to take part in thoughtful class discussions about how everyday decisions can impact both physical and emotional health. They explored a range of real-life scenarios and worked together to act them out, practising how to give advice to a friend and suggest healthier alternatives in different situations.

The class discussed the benefits of regular exercise, maintaining a balanced and nutritious diet, and protecting their skin by wearing suncream in sunny weather. They also talked about the importance of avoiding harmful habits such as drinking alcohol and vaping, demonstrating a clear understanding of how these choices can affect their bodies and minds, both now and in the future.

Through teamwork and role-play, the children showed maturity and empathy when offering guidance and support to their peers. Mrs Sheriff was extremely impressed with the thoughtful contributions and the responsible, health-conscious decisions shared during the lesson.
