Rupert House is awarded bronze level award from Greener Henley

Rupert House School is proud to be amongst the first 12 recipients of Greener Henley’s Green Futures Awards, achieving the Bronze level award.

The Green Futures Awards is the first independently run, hyper-local awards programme in the Henley area supporting schools to take meaningful climate and nature action. Launched by Greener Henley, Henley’s climate and nature action charity, the programme helps schools embed sustainability into everyday learning and operations.

We are delighted to have achieved the Bronze award, which recognises our commitment to engaging our school community and communicating the importance of climate and nature action. This milestone is both motivating and inspiring, and we look forward to building on this strong foundation.

The Green Futures Awards are particularly meaningful to Rupert House because they are rooted in our local community. The programme connects us with other Henley schools and links us directly to local and regional campaigns and initiatives. It also provides valuable support and guidance from Greener Henley and specialist education advisers, helping us access resources such as the National Education Nature Park to map biodiversity on our site and deepen pupils’ connection with nature.

As climate impacts such as flash flooding and extreme heat become more frequent, being part of the Green Futures Awards programme helps us focus on building resilience. By embedding climate awareness and action at the heart of school life, we are taking important steps to ensure our school remains a safe, sustainable and inspiring place for our children to learn.
