Maths challenge afternoon
All the children in Pre-Prep, from Nursery to Year 2, enjoyed an afternoon Maths Fair at school on Friday (27th June).
Working in groups, the children moved around a variety of different hands-on maths-related activities, each run by a different team of Year 5 helpers (thanks, Year 5 helpers!). In the Maths room, children completed calculator challenges set by the Year 5s.
In one of the Year 1 classrooms, children played dice and domino games, while in the other Year 1 classroom children investigated weight and volume using balances and measuring jugs.
On the astro, the children switched between several different quick-fire physical maths activities, and on the lawn the children competed in teams to complete a ball-throw game.
The Year 5s loved working with the Pre-Prep children on these fun, out-of-the-box maths challenges!
