Happy Hub

This week in the Happy Hub, a small group of Year 3 children were invited to share their thoughts and feelings about moving up to Year 4.

During the session, the children came to understand that it’s completely normal to have a mix of emotions during times of change — and that it’s okay to feel both excited and nervous at the same time!

Madame Sheriff guided the children through an activity where they created a ‘travel bag’ filled with things they might need to feel supported as they transition to Year 4. They included comforting items such as a special toy, a favourite blanket, or a picture of someone who supports them. Some added encouraging words or listed activities that help them feel good, like playing football outdoors.

This thoughtful exercise helped the children identify what will support them as they begin a new academic chapter. They also discovered an important message: everyone’s bag looked different — because we’re all different — and it’s important to respect and value each other’s unique needs.
