Forest School officially opens!

The whole school spent a wonderful morning up at our newly revamped forest school site today for the official opening which was done by well-known adventurer, Ben Fogle.

Mr Armitage and Mrs Steer, who planned and designed the updated forest school, spoke to the children before introducing Ben Fogle who told us all about some of his many adventures. He wowed pupils with stories about swimming with crocodiles and climbing Everest, before cutting the ribbon to the outdoor classroom.

The children then sang songs with Mr Dwinell on the guitar before toasting marshmallows on the fire, drinking hot chocolate, playing, bug hunting, exploring, swinging, building dens, climbing trees and generally enjoying being with friends in the great outdoors.

All the children got to see and interact with the new bug hotel, the veg planters, the wood store and the covered outdoor classroom. They even got a peek at the newly finished pond which is ready to be filled with fish and newts.

You can watch a summary of the morning here and see some photos below!
