Exploring the world of engineering

Year 1 and 2 were thrilled to welcome Claire from Inventors and Makers for an exciting session all about engineering.

Claire introduced the children to the idea that engineering is “using stuff that makes stuff that does stuff,” helping them understand how engineers solve real-world problems by creating clever solutions.

The highlight of the session was a fun, interactive quiz called Who Wants to Be an Engineer?, where the children had to guess what various images showed and whether they were created by engineers. Claire also shared inspiring stories of real-life engineers, their favourite school subjects—like Art and Maths—and the incredible careers they’ve gone on to have, including working on special effects for Disney films!

The session sparked lots of curiosity and excitement. Who knows? Maybe some of our young learners will grow up to be the next generation of engineers!
