A splendiferous day of Dahl-icious discovery

On 5th November, Year 3 enjoyed a fantastic trip to the Roald Dahl Museum.

They began the day with a village walk, spotting the buildings that inspired some of the settings in Dahl’s famous stories. A lovely stroll up to the church gave us the chance to see Roald Dahl’s memorial tree and bench.

The children had great fun creating their own monsters from playdough, editing and improving some of Roald Dahl’s early writing, designing fantastical objects, and exploring the galleries filled with costumes and fascinating items from his life.

They rounded off the day with some wonderful creative writing and collaging, and left feeling truly inspired to become authors and illustrators themselves!
