28th February 2025

After a mostly wet, grey week, we were fortunate to enjoy a lovely, crisp, sunny morning for our open event yesterday.
On this occasion we welcomed prospective parents initially to our outdoor classroom where they had the opportunity to witness Year 2 enjoying some outdoor learning activities and Year 5 keenly tackling their way through an energetic rugby session on the playing fields, before then leading them back to the school on Bell Street, where the children were engrossed in a number of adventure themed activities from Music to Art and DT to Science. They were fantastic ambassadors for the school, and we had lots of lovely comments from those who attended the event.
If you know anyone with a child who is due to start Reception in September, we are holding a taster event on 21st March for anyone new to the school and it would be great if you could share this date with them. More information can be found here: www.ruperthouse.org/discovery-day
Today, the weather was again glorious and Suli and I very much enjoyed watching the netball matches this afternoon in the sun. The matches were keenly contested and were very exciting. Well played, all!
Wishford Art Exhibition
On Monday evening, my wife and I went over to Cirencester to view the wonderful Art Exhibition which displayed fabulous artwork from all the schools in the group. A number of other Rupert House parents joined us and we were all enormously impressed the high calibre of works on show. Well done to all those whose works were selected for the exhibition!
World Book Day
It is World Book Day on Thursday - don't forget your children's outfits! Please take a moment to read the letter below from Mrs Clough which contains arrangements for the day.
World Book Day FoRH Book Drive & Book Sale
Lizzie Benson has asked me to say a big thank you to everyone who donated books for the upcoming FoRH Book Sale on World Book Day. Well over 500 books have been donated, with Monday the final day for donations please, and Mrs Clough will then share the winning House next week! We also have several books from previous donations, so we will have a wonderful selection of books for children to purchase and bring home.
The book sale will take place on Thursday from 3.15pm in the Hall so please do stop by if you can! Alternatively, please make sure children have money on the day to purchase books (£3/book or bundle). Cash or card will be accepted.
All proceeds will be donated to The Chiltern Centre. All remaining children's books will be donated to the RAF Benson Primary School in partnership with The Childrens's Book Project.
Thanks again for your support!
Second Hand Uniform Sale
A reminder that there will be a second-hand uniform sale on Monday 3rd March at 8:30am at the pavilion. Please park in the rugby club or walk from the Waitrose car park. There is no parking available in the staff car park.
