26th September 2025

It has been a busy week of sport this week with hockey and football tournaments taking place for all children in Year 3 to 6 both home and away.
Everyone played well and there were some fantastic results. Suli and I enjoyed watching the Year 5&6 boys playing against Upton House and LVS Ascot on Wednesday, coming away with three wins and a draw! A number of Prep children also represented Rupert House in a swimming gala at Reddam House yesterday. Well done to them all! Please see the sports report below for more detail.
Today, during assembly, we celebrated National Teaching Assistants' Day by showing our appreciation for the incredible hard work and dedication of our Teaching Assistants. Each received a chocolatey thank-you gift from the school as a token of our gratitude. We were also delighted to present them with Nero vouchers kindly provided by the Friends of Rupert House - thank you for your generosity and support!
In my Monday assembly I spoke about the importance of creativity in overcoming challenges we face and gave the example of the artist Tom Yendell OBE, who was born without arms as a result of thalidomide. From an early age he was passionate about art and determined to express himself creatively, developing his technique using his feet and mouth. By coincidence, at Radley College on Tuesday evening, I heard another mouth artist, Will Fletcher, speak about his incredible journey from hospital bed to now also creating the most beautiful artworks. Inspirational stuff!
Flu vaccinations
If your child missed out on receiving a flu vaccination in school this week, but you would like them to be vaccinated, please fill and submit the form below. You will then be contacted by a member of the immunisation team who will let you know details of upcoming catch up clinics. You can also email immunisationteam@oxfordhealth.nhs.uk.
New Prep Sports Tops
The new sports tops for Prep children have unfortunately been delayed at Customs and will now be arriving next week. A reminder to please name them before bringing them into school. If you did not manage to order one before the order cut-off date, we will have placed an order on your behalf and will issue your child with their shirt in school and the cost of this will be added to your school bill.
Harvest
With only 3 weeks to go until Half Term, it is time to start thinking about Harvest. Please see the letter below regarding the service. As in previous years, we will be collecting donations of food and household items which will be given to Henley Food Bank, via ‘Nomad’. The list of items they are looking for can be found here. Please bring the donations to school between Monday 6th and Thursday 16th October. They can either be left in the front entrance hall or on the collection table at Courtney’s.
Mass at Stonor – This Sunday
There will be a family-friendly Catholic Mass at Stonor Chapel this Sunday (28th September) at 9:30am. The Stonor family warmly welcomes all Rupert House families who would like to attend. Please park at the Tumblestone Hollow Visitor car park, then make your way to the chapel at the side of the house.
We had another strong turnout for Running Club this morning and hopefully lots of the children will be keen to take part in the first of the Chiltern Edge Series of runs, starting next Saturday, 4th October.
