10th May 2024

It has been a short, yet very busy week in the glorious sunshine.

Today the whole school enjoyed a fabulous trip to Wellington Country Park. It was very special to have everyone together, enjoying the outdoors and making the most of this beautiful weather in celebration of the school's centenary. It was a lovely way to take the children and staff into the weekend and I hope you will be hearing all about it the exciting things they got up to from your children this evening. There are photographs of the day below and on the school trips Instagram page (@rupert_house_school_trips).

Next week the Year 6 children have a busy schedule around their lessons and play rehearsals, including learning important road safety skills on their Bikeability course and an exciting trip to see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the New Victoria Theatre in Woking.  There are also jazz dance workshops for Years 3, 4 and 5 run by Steph from DD Academy and a number of cricket fixtures both home and away.

We are also looking forward to welcoming the Nursery children and parents to our Teddy Bears’ Adventure on Friday in our Forest School. If you know of any families who are still looking for a Reception place for their child to start in September, please do share the details of this event with them using this link: ruperthouse.org/teddy-bears-adventure

Henley Regatta Drinks and Centenary Ball

I would like to invite you to join us for a drink on Thursday 4th July in Butler’s Field at Henley Regatta. Please pop along during the lunchtime break in racing from 12 until approximately 2pm for a glass of local bubbly and a light snack. There is more information on this in the letter below. For catering purposes, it would be very helpful if you could please let us know if you are thinking of coming along using this link: https://forms.office.com/e/B13hJCZMS4

Following the success of last year's Rupert House Ball, we will shortly be sharing further details about the school’s spectacular Centenary Ball, which I very much hope you will be keen to attend. The evening promises to be a very special occasion, bringing together current and former parents, pupils, staff and Governors to mark this important landmark in the school's history. Please save the date of 14th September and look out for details on how to purchase a ticket in next week’s newsletter. We will be encouraging people to book tables of 12, so perhaps you might start thinking about who you would like to party with!

I hope you have a lovely weekend and are able to make the most of the summer weather at last!
