"I congratulate you on your many years of teaching youngsters. I was a pupil in the early days of the war and I recall the teacher was Miss Hallet. Food was rationed and I was in charge of butter pats for lunch time."

"I think I was at Rupert House in 1940 as I recall that when I went to Prep School after Rupert House, I had to carry a gas mask in a cardboard box every day and practice wearing it walking round the games field. It used to steam up on the inside so I could only see about 20%of where I was walking!"

"At the time I lived in Marlow, but now live in Essex. I met and made friends with Roy Weir (as he then was) at Rupert House and we stayed in close touch for the next 70 years. I worked for many years in the Lloyds insurance market."
