Positive Affirmations

This week in their Wellbeing lessons, pupils in Year 5 and 6 have been learning about the power of positivity.

Year 6 were tasked with writing an alphabet of positive affirmations for themselves, while Year 5 made some positive affirmation hopscotches for all the children to enjoy.

Next week, the children will be tasked with starting each day with a positive affirmation. House points will be given to Prep children who can record a positive affirmation in their diary each day.

Some children mentioned they had a ‘HappySelf’ journal home. These are a more structured way of encouraging positive affirmations and self-reflection and can be a good starting point to encourage positive talk between parents, carers and children. They are widely available in shops and online.
