15th September 2023
Everyone seems to have settled back into the swing of things so well this week, especially the younger ones in Nursery and Reception and all the new children who joined us further up the school.
I hope the welcome and information meetings were useful and a good opportunity to meet your child’s form teachers. If you were not able to attend your meeting, most were recorded and the videos can be found below. The Year 2 and 5 meetings were not recorded, but the Year 5 presentation is included below and the Year 2 one will be available soon.
Meet the Head Coffee Morning
Next Thursday from 8.30am we have Danuta Staunton from St Mary’s Ascot (a Catholic boarding school for girls aged between 11 and 18 years) coming for the first in this academic year's series of Meet the Head coffee mornings in the Studio. This is open to parents of children in all year groups and is an informal opportunity to hear from them and to have the opportunity to ask questions yourself.
New and Current Parent Drinks
On Thursday 21st September we are holding our annual parent drinks which gives new parents a chance to meet other parents and staff, and existing parents the opportunity to catch up and also to meet some new faces. There will be drinks and canapés from 7.30pm in the Hall.
Open Morning
We are holding an Open Morning on Friday 22nd September from 9am to 12pm for prospective parents. If you know anyone who may be interested in sending their child to Rupert House, please let them know about it and ask them to register their interest via this link: Rupert House School - Open Events
Centenary
As most of you are aware, Rupert House will be celebrating its Centenary in 2024. We are in the early stages of planning a number of events which some parents have already kindly offered to assist with. We are also looking for someone to help us with some celebratory merchandise. If any parents have any links to businesses that might be relevant, or simply anyone who would be interested in being involved, please get in touch via the office email.
Church Service at Stonor
There will be a family-friendly Catholic church service at Stonor Chapel this Sunday (17th September) at 9.30am. The Stonors would like to welcome any Rupert House families who are interested in going along. There will be an Antique and Vintage Car Boot Fair taking place in the Park, so for those coming when you arrive please tell the people parking cars that you are coming to the chapel, drive through the event, park at the Tumblestone Hollow car park and head to the chapel at the side of the house.
A number of children are taking part in the cross-country event at Grey’s Court and also the National Schools' Equestrian Association competition tomorrow. Best of luck to all those taking part in these and other sporting events over the weekend and I hope you have a lovely time whatever you are doing.
With best wishes,
Nick Armitage
