The school is non selective when children enter at 4. However, if pupils join further up the school (subject to availability) we do like them to spend some time with us in order for them to undergo an assessment and have a short interview.
The school has a Christian foundation and is inter-denominational with a tradition of welcoming children of different faiths. Equal opportunity for all is at the heart of the school and there is a strong emphasis on moral issues. All children are encouraged to be considerate and kind towards others and to be aware of their own and the safety of others. Whilst providing the traditional values of good manners, self discipline, hard work, co-operation, honesty and respect for others, we also believe that education should be enjoyable.
Specialist facilities include a science laboratory, art room, French room, music studio, IT suite and learning support team. In addition to the facilities on site there is a sports field a short walk from the school where pupils from Years 2 to 6 enjoy their Games lessons.
There is a flourishing Parents Association in the form of ‘The Friends of Rupert House’.
‘The Friends’ organise a number of social and fund raising activities throughout the year involving both pupils and parents. The funds raised are used to benefit the pupils.
The school is proud of its place within the Henley community, supporting local charities and making full use of the facilities available in this historic riverside town.
