Nursery

The youngest members of our family learn and develop through play in a happy, safe and exciting environment.

Children are welcome to start Nursery at Rupert House from the age of 3.

The Nursery and Reception classes constitute the Early Years Foundation Stage at Rupert House. This forms the basis of the curriculum for our Nursery and Reception classes, specifically focusing on the seven areas of learning.

The three prime areas are:

  • Communication and Language
  • Physical Development
  • Personal, Social and; Emotional Development

The four specific areas are:

  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the World
  • Expressive Arts and Design

Across all classes, firm foundations are laid in the essential skills and the weekly timetable is structured to guarantee a varied and exciting programme, which offers a wide range of practical experiences intended to motivate and stimulate.

Our team of experienced and qualified staff works closely with you to ensure that your child feels secure and confident. We encourage the children to explore, investigate and use their imagination through innovative and engaging activities, both inside and outside.

Forest School is offered on a weekly basis from Nursery upwards. In addition the Reception children benefit from weekly specialist teaching in Swimming, PE, ICT and French.

Above all, learning is active and fun!
