Learning about life in the First World War

Y6 spent a fascinating morning at RAF Halton’s Trenchard Museum, where they enjoyed learning about life in the First World War.

Rotating around a series of different activities, they handled deactivated weapons, they tried on uniform and kit, they learnt how aeroplanes were built using various woodworking tools, they censored letters being sent home to loved ones and they tried bully beef and home-made biscuits, which were the staple diet of those on the front line.
