| Residential trips |
Each summer term the Year 5 and Year 6 girls are taken on a five day residential trip accompanied by four members of staff.
Over the past few years this has been to New Barn Field Centre which is set in twenty acres of farmland in an area of outstanding natural beauty in Dorset. It is a converted 18 th century farmstead with chalk and flint barns, stables and cottages all of which have been refurbished to provide suitable accommodation, study and workshop facilities.

The site provides exciting opportunities for environmental studies, guided walks to local places of interest and various practical hands-on craft activities, including pottery. The school takes an active role in planning a suitable programme for the girls.
We are aware that some of the girls might have spent little time away from their family and every effort is made to ensure that the experience is a positive one. Our overriding aim is that the girls spend time together, away from home, in a spirit of mutual respect and camaraderie.
School staff are with the girls at all times. Health and safety issues are given the highest priority and thorough risk assessments are made before and during the trip.
