Day trips away from the classroom provide the children with hands-on experiences that enhance learning and bring the subject or topic being studied alive.
We draw on a variety of suitable places that are fun to visit. All are carefully risk assessed. Some of these venues are in the immediate locality and some are further away involving a coach trip. We use reputable coach companies to ensure the highest standards of safety.
Pupils are closely supervised with suitable staff/child ratios to ensure safety.
Local venues include the Henley library, the River and Rowing Museum, Pizza Express for the Foundation Stage children to ‘have a go’ at making pizzas and the Fire Station.
Venues further away include Sulgrave Manor, Warwick castle, Cogges Farm, the Chiltern Open Air Museum, Milestones Museum, the Ashmoleon museum and Beconscot model village.
The older girls take part in various Challenge Days as well as sporting events at schools in the area. This allows them the invaluable opportunity to interact with pupils from other schools.
Opposite: Year 6 visit Cadbury World, Reception make their own pizzas at Pizza Express and Year 5 enjoy the period costumes at Sulgrave Manor.
