Form teachers

In the Upper School (Key Stage 2) children are taught by specialist subject teachers. This involves the children moving from room to room or having staff come to them in their own form room to teach different subjects.

Each form has an appointed form tutor who registers the children in the morning, ensures that homework is handed in, guides them in managing their timetable and generally oversees their pastoral care as well as their individual academic and personal progress. Time is set aside each week for a form period with the form tutor to discuss matters relating to the School Council, to put together class assemblies or to discuss any pertinent issue that has arisen during the week or term.

Form tutors meet parents at parents’ evenings twice a year and provide a clear overall picture of how each child is performing and progressing emotionally, socially, phyiscally and academically. Parents are welcome to make appointments with their child’s form tutor to discuss any aspect relating to their child’s schooling.
