Our last inspection was carried out during the spring term 2005 by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI).
We were extremely pleased that the report recognised the high quality of the management and the administration of the school, of the teaching and overall learning of the children and of the standard of education that we constantly strive to provide at Rupert House.
These are some of the key aspects that the report noted:
- there is a high attainment at the Foundation Stage across all six key areas of learning
- the school offers a broad and balanced education that is suited to all pupils across the full age and ability range
- access of less able pupils to the curriculum is facilitated through carefully planned lessons, well targeted support from classroom assistants and there is excellent special needs provision
- in national tests at age 11 pupils attain far above the national average for all maintained schools
- pupils achieve a good level of success in gaining places at the secondary school of their parents’ choice and in gaining scholarships.
We were particularly pleased that the inspectors highlighted the personal development of the children as a strength of the school. The report stated that the quality of the pastoral care, welfare and health and safety were all very good.
But perhaps the most important part of the report was the quote:
“Pupils say that they enjoy coming to school.”
