Music
Music lessons cover all areas of the music National Curriculum, from listening and appraising, performance, composition, evaluation and general theory of music. It is organised into half-termly schemes, which include film music, vocal music, orchestral music, music for dance, popular music and experimental music.

Pupils are encouraged to work individually, in groups and as a whole class. As well as learning basic keyboard and recorder skills, pupils also perform using hand-bells, tuned and untuned percussion and world music instruments such as steel pans.
 
 

Singing is included in all schemes of work and pupils from Year 4 upwards are taught to sing in 2 and 3-part harmony. All pupils are taught to read and write music notation.

Peripatetic music lessons are available for those wishing to learn the piano, or a string or woodwind instrument.

Extra-curricular activities include; wind orchestra, string orchestra, choir and chamber choir
